I have been studying Te Reo Māori for over a year now and as a Wildlife / Bird Photographer I thought, for Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori 2021, I would create a series of images showcasing some Whakataukī (Māori Sayings / Proverbs) that make reference to manu (birds).
Studying Te Reo Māori is important to me as it helps me connect to the taiao (nature / environment) and whenua (land) that I call 'Home'.
